Job description:
TrashCon is conducting an interview for the post of Mechanical R&D and Design Engineer.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- To create designs and technical drawings for mechanical devices and equipment.
- Work closely with engineers and other professionals to create and improve manufacturing systems or processes and develop drawings for a wide variety of machines.
- Develop prototypes, place them through rigorous testing and release them for manufacturing when they meet or exceed our specifications for product quality and safety.
Innovation:
- Ideate and conceptualise new and innovative technologies both upstream and downstream to realise the TrashCon’s vision of zero landfills.
- Scale‐up and adapt the existing technologies at TrashCon for different customer segments.
- Optimize our current and future technologies to reduce cost, weight and improve efficiency.
Designing:
- Developing an idea from concept by extensive study and research.
- Growing the concept from seed stage to a manufacturing ready drawing.
- Create mechanical safety standards after thorough observation.
- To assess the working of the machinery and troubleshoot the problems.
- To simulate possible solutions and to come up with the best possible solution.
- To prototype the solution hands-on and iterate to achieve optimized results.
Manufacturing:
- To independently function and ensure manufacturing of components within stipulated time as finalized by mutual discussion with the team.
- To independently function and ensure completion of product within stipulated time as finalized by mutual discussion with the team.
- To update the vendor list as and when required by locating vendors providing better services in terms of unit economics and quality than the existing vendors.
- To communicate the needs of the company to the vendors and vice‐versa.
- To involve in procurement of raw‐materials and brought out items when required.
Miscellaneous - To take up additional responsibilities as entrusted by the Company from time to time.
Qualification and Experience required:
Mechanical Engineer with at least 2 years of experience in 2D & 3D designing in SOLIDWORKS.
