Job description:
Ingersoll Rand is hiring Engineers for their Bangalore office.
Job duties and responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for new product development as well as i2V projects for the Power Tools and Lifting business unit. This position will assist the project lead in developing concept, detailed design, and manufacturing drawings, as well as performing design calculations, fixture design, product testing, and validation. This individual will also interact with a global cross-functional team and should be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Understand existing product and propose next generation technology to improve it.
- Develop product concept, part design and detailing.
- Design and develop test fixture for product validation.
- Assist project lead in DFMEA during product development cycle.
- Perform prototype product testing to validate design.
- Engineering documentation to include bills of material, test specifications and lab reports.
Qualifications and experience required:
B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed university with 1-3 years of experience in industrial product design and development
Competencies required:
- Solid fundamentals of mechanical engineering.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required to work in a global environment across different time zones.
- Excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to manage time and complete multiple assignments concurrently.
- Strong agility in exploring next gen technologies related to power tools and lifting products.
- Basic understanding of design codes (ASME, IEC and EN standards).
- Fundamental understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack up.
- Basic Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, plastic, casting, sheet metal).
- Basic knowledge of materials and heat treatment.
Software:
- CREO parametric solid modeling & sheet metal
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- PLM system (Windchill)
