GlobalFoundries is conducting an internship for Engineers.
Job duties and responsibilities:
In this time-bounded position, you will be integrated in our Design Platform Group, especially in the projects the Advanced Circuit Design (ACD) department will be driving. In close collaboration with other disciplines across our worldwide engineering teams, you will be developing Analog Mixed-Signal circuits in FinFet/CMOS/BCD technologies which enable complex test chips during the development of advanced process nodes as well as dedicated customer demonstrator designs.
The intern will work directly with existing team working on circuit architecture development from spec, IP-Level/Block-Level Circuit Design, Simulations, Results Documentation for review, PDK assessment with IP, Layout Design and Layout verification. The assignment would involve getting exposure to leading edge foundry EDA tools, design flows, and yield / design interaction. The responsibility includes complete understanding of circuit topologies, best class architecture development, Design from Specifications, Sub-Block circuit design, layout design and review etc.
Qualifications and Experience required:
Education: PhD or Masters student enrolled in an accredited program
“Microelectronics/VLSI” Student/Academic Project Experience: Ideally you have gained some practical experience either in the student or academic projects in Analog Mixed-Signal Design (Silicon) in any of the following areas:
LDO Regulator/Chargepump/Bandgaps/DC-DC Buck and/or Boost Converters/Temperature Sensors/ Battery Management (Monitor/Charger) circuits/Data Converters (ADC/DACs)/Clocking (PLLs)/Data recovery circuits/Oscillators/Current &Voltage Sense Amplifiers/Gate Drivers etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Enrolled PhD Students with specialization in any of Analog and Mixed Signal Design areas (more preferable)
- Students from IIT/NIT institutions
- Good knowledge of CMOS/BCD/FINFET technologies and Device Physics
- Hands on knowledge of state of the art Custom Mixed Signal Design Flows
- Programming experience applicable to design flow automation tasks
- You are flexible, highly motivated and have a team-oriented working style
- Minimum of 3 months experience with UNIX environment.
- Excellent academic standing, Attention to detail and Learning skills
- Self-motivated & able to take ownership of assignments, develop work plans and proactively seek feedback to ensure objectives are aligned and met
- Strong written and oral communications skills
