NVIDIA is looking for a Software Intern for their Robotics Simulation team.

Job duties and responsibilities:

  • Work closely with simulation engineers, robotics researchers, and artists to define and deliver a simulation environment that accelerates robotics development.
  • You will help build production-quality software that:
  • Simulates, trains and tests different types of robots and scales from the edge to the cloud.
  • Simulates different physical sensors (camera, lidar, IMU), vehicle and rigid/soft body dynamics.
  • Generates synthetic data (segmentation, bounding boxes, etc.) for perception, navigation and manipulation training.
  • Ensures transfer learning from simulation to physical robots.
  • Provides a simulation environment to develop intelligent machines that can work closely with people in a safe collaborative manner.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • You are pursuing a PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Math, or related field.
  • Software development skills (C++, Python).
  • Strong mathematical fundamentals, including linear algebra and calculus.
  • Experience with game/physics engine development.
  • Ambitious to deliver, eager to learn new things, and strong communication skills.
  • Ways to stand out from the crowd:
  • Experience with ROS, physics simulation software, computer graphics, version control.
  • Background with Docker, Scalable Cloud deployments
  • Experience with shipping and supporting software products.
  • Familiar with AI concepts: Supervised Learning, Reinforcement Learning.
  • Experience with data-parallel and/or accelerated computing (CUDA, OpenCL).
