TE Connectivity is conducting an interview for the post of Product Engineer.
About the team:
TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Sustenance engineering activities for EPS and WNC product line
- Managing engineering changes through ECR / ECN’s and product change notifications
- Coordinating with global operations team and engineering counterparts to support on sustenance engineering activities on daily basis
- 2D & 3D drawing creation and release as per TE standards and procedures through ECR/ECN standard processes
- Coordination with global operations, PAVE team to identify & execute VAVE opportunities
- Coordination with internal and external test labs, global counterparts to support on testing and validation
- Execute product compliances like REACH & RoHS coding for assigned product line
- Supports on new product development activities, ability to support on concept generation, DFMEA, tolerance stack up, DFM & DFA and basic FEA activities
- Support new product development team for CAD activities
- Generates formal test reports based on test data from various test labs
- Takes ownership of assigned tasks, coordinates with respective stake holders until completion of the tasks
- Work on continuous improvement activities through LEAN principle
Qualification and experience required:
BE/ B.Tech (Mechanical or Mechatronics)
Critical Experience:
- 1 to 3 years of hands on experience in mechanical design and development activities and sustenance engineering activities.
- Strong proven track record in engineering
- Hands on experience in plastic part design
- Basic knowledge on plastic and elastomer materials and manufacturing processes
- Good in basic mechanical calculations and strength of materials
- Basic understanding on electrical terminologies
- Knowledge on Wire and Cable Products, basic knowledge on boots, cable brackets, wire repair products etc.
- Ability to work as a Team player
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Basic understanding on obtaining product certification from standard bodies and regulatory agencies
- Basic understanding on quality systems like AS9100 or ISO 9001-2015
