Job description:
Altium is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated Applications Engineer with a passion for customer support and a focus on schematic/PCB design, simulation, and data management.
Job duties and responsibilities:
You’ll be responsible for providing technical assistance to customers and other Application Engineers on Altium products including troubleshooting and documenting difficult issues. This job may require occasional travel.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical questions and issues for internal and external customers for resolution within a reasonable timeframe
- Respond to dispatched calls as required
- Create and escalate support tickets
- Constantly expand technical knowledge by exploring technical content and Altium products
- Support customer base through the FAQs, Knowledge Base articles, online help, Community Forum participation, and other mediums
Qualifications and experience required:
- An individual who is self-managed and highly motivated
- Associate degree in engineering or technical subject; or 2+ years’ experience in schematic/PCB design
- Knowledge of the electronics industry and experience in a technical support role are strongly preferred
- Ability to read and follow guides to resolve usage issues and troubleshoot complex problems
- A solid understanding of electronic design software, verification, and automation
- Ability to perform all Applications Engineering and Support Administrator functions as needed
- Strong computer/software troubleshooting skills are required
- Fluency in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, including in group and presentation settings; a second language is a plus
- The desire to work in a fast-paced environment with passion and enthusiasm for Altium Corporate Goals, Visions, Products, and Solutions
