Job description:

PierSight is seeking a motivated FPGA Design Engineer – Intern to learn and eventually become a part the team in full time role to drive the development of advanced hardware solutions for space exploration.

Job duties and responsibilities:

You will develop RTL code to implement FPGA-based digital designs for payload controller of SAR Payload. Project include designing logic for High-Speed Data Converter interfaces, digital signal processing and control logic (bus interfaces and state machines)
Develop FPGA IP for High-Speed Serial Protocols, Memory Interfaces, High Speed Data Converter Interfaces, Signal Processing and their integration into Space-Grade Systems, ensuring reliability in challenging environments.
Leverage expertise in Microchip tools such as Libero SoC and SmartTime to optimize design processes specifically for space applications.
You will perform FPGA debugging and HW/SW integration.
You will write test bench for verifying design.
You will debug code using ChipScope and other debugging techniques.

Qualifications and other requirements:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical engineering, Electronics or a related field.
Basic Knowledge of Verilog / VHDL and Digital Electronics
Understanding of Protocols like SPI, UART, I2C etc.
Understanding of clock management techniques, including clock dividers, PLLs, and their application in space-grade designs.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
