Job description:
MKS Instruments is conducting an interview for the post of Associate Hardware Engineer.
Job duties and responsibilities:
In this role you will design printed circuit board layouts, associated manufacturing file and maintain the component library database. Candidate will work with other Engineers as part of a larger product development and sustaining engineering team.
As a curious, successful candidate you will operate independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly technical environment and work on cross-functional projects. You are highly self-motivated and capable of combining the efforts of the team to support innovative designs and differentiated technology.
- Designing Printed Circuit Board footprints/layouts from Electrical schematics.
- Managing component library – create new symbols and sustain existing components.
- Working with Component Engineering Team on component selections.
- Supporting Engineering Design reviews, and failure analysis activities.
Skills required:
- Requires a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree or equivalent experience
- Expert in circuit design, reading manufacturer datasheets, and designing multilayer PCBA stackups.
- Expert with PADS or equivalent PCB layout software
- Understanding of the PCBA manufacturing process and familiarity with IPC industry standards.
- Basic understanding of electromagnetics and interactions between fields, voltages, currents, and materials.
- Basic understanding of electrical measurements and equipment, voltmeter, and oscilloscope.
- Soldering experience preferred.
Physical demands & working conditions:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 80% of the time
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
- This job operates in a professional office and laboratory environment
