Job description:
CISCO is hiring for the post of ASIC Engineer.
About the team and work:
You will be part of the Silicon One development organization as a hardware engineer intern in San Jose, CA with a primary focus on VLSI circuit Design For Testability, including Memory Built-In-Self-Test and digital circuit scan test. You will work with Front-end RTL teams, backend physical design teams to understand chip architecture and drive design for test requirements early in the design cycle. As a member of this team you will be involved in crafting cutting edge next generation networking chips. You will be working with the team to drive the DFT and quality process through the product life cycle: the architecture definitions, implementation flow/methodologies, test plans, tape-out sign-off activities, post silicon validation, production yield & DPPM support.
- Work with the team on Verilog RTL and scripted flow implementation of the specified Hardware Design-for-Test (DFT) features that support ATE, in-system test, debug and diagnostics needs of the design.
- Work with the team on Verilog testbench implementation of the specified verification tests for DFT features and use case.
- Work with the team on automation scripts intended for robustness of implementation quality and improvement of efficiency.
Qualifications and other requirements:
You are an University graduate (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering) with solid knowledge of:
- VLSI and circuit design concepts (flops, SRAM, DRAM, FIFO, FSM).
- VLSI circuit implementation methodologies (Verilog/HDL, Simulation, Synthesis, Placement & Routing).
- VLSI circuit physical behaviors in silicon (electrical migration, temperature/voltage variation effects).
- Basic timing concepts, including setup and hold, metastability.
- Some EDA tools usage experience
- Strong verbal communication skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
- Scripting/coding language: Tcl, Python, Perl, or c/c++.
