Job description:
Cosmicport is conducting an interview for the post of Spacecraft Design Engineer.
Job duties and responsibilities:
The role offered involves significant contributions to mechanical design for the assembly of subsystems in satellites, as well as hold-down and release mechanisms for solar panels and antennas. The incumbent will be an integral part of the Research and Development (R&D) satellite team.
- Create 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software.
- Perform structural and thermal analysis to ensure the integrity of components under various space environments and launch conditions.
- Work along with system engineers to accommodate various satellite components.
- Analyse and provide insights on the mass distribution properties of the satellite.
- Assist in engineering fabrication drawings.
- Integration of mechanical components related to test setup.
- Assisting other team members from multiple disciplines to achieve their goals.
Qualifications and experience required:
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or any other relevant discipline 0-2 years experience in designing mechanical components using CAD
Preferred skills:
- Have a basic understanding of the satellite subsystems.
- Knowledge of Orbital Mechanics.
- High degree of attention to detail.
- Demonstrated capability to efficiently work with little to no supervision.
- Proficiency in CAD software: SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA with experience in FEA, and CFD.
