IISc Bangalore is seeking a talented and dynamic Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join the team.

Job Title: Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Intern – PCB and CAD Design

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Intern – PCB and CAD Design will assist in the design and production of advanced components using our state-of-the-art hybrid metal and polymer 3D printers. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in PCB design, 3D modeling, and CAD software, and a willingness to learn and integrate electronic and mechanical design principles.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing and developing printed circuit boards (PCBs) using Additive
  • Manufacturing and 3D models of PCBs for hybrid manufacturing projects.
  • Create detailed CAD models of mechanical parts using software such as AutoCAD, Fusion 360, and SolidWorks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electronic components and mechanical parts seamlessly.
  • Utilize Eagle and Fusion Electronics for PCB schematic and layout design.
  • Conduct simulations and analyses to ensure the integrity and functionality of designs.
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability and cost-efficiency in a hybrid manufacturing environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design and manufacturing issues.
  • Stay current with advancements in hybrid manufacturing technologies and incorporate best practices into designs.
  • Document design processes and maintain detailed records of all designs and modifications.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of additive manufacturing processes and materials is a must.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in PCB design and CAD modeling.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Eagle, and Fusion Electronics is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques and materials.
  • Experience with simulation software for design validation.
