Job description:
GlobalFoundries is conducting an internship for Engineers in Bangalore.
This internship position at GlobalFoundries India, Bangalore, supports the 200mm and 300mm wafer fabs located in the US, Singapore, and Germany. As a Fab Engineering Intern, you will perform manufacturing data analysis and assist in various fab engineering and operations functions.
Your Job:
- Involvement in one or more Fab Engineering functions, including Process Integration, Yield Engineering, Defect Engineering, Process Modules (e.g., Photolithography, Etch, Diffusion), or Data Analytics.
- Monitor and analyze electrical, sort, defect, and metrology data during Fab processing.
- Analyze inline Statistical Process Control (SPC) trends to identify sources of variation, improve process control, and reduce product variability.
- Support problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives by performing data mining and analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation and analytics opportunities, and develop algorithms to improve operational efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with various Fab teams and actively participate in problem-solving using lean manufacturing methodologies.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics or a related discipline.
- Basic understanding of semiconductor processing technology and devices is desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is essential.
- Scripting and coding skills (R or Python) are required, especially for analytic roles.
- Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with global teams effectively.
- The candidate must be organized, proactive, committed, and possess excellent analytical abilities.
