Job description:
NVIDIA is looking for a Hardware Farm Engineer to manage, troubleshoot, and optimize its global hardware infrastructure used for silicon validation. The intricate nature of this hardware introduces unique and challenging issues, requiring someone with a strong foundation and innovative approach to problem-solving. As part of the Silicon Solutions Team, you’ll contribute to the successful productization of NVIDIA’s chips across a variety of applications including consumer electronics, servers, mobile devices, and automotive solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain and ensure the functionality of the Hardware Farm, a large network of GPU, SoC, and CPU systems unified through software.
- Debug both hardware and software, involving PCBs, voltage regulators, OS, drivers, firmware, and more.
- Develop test plans and scripts to validate the integrity of the hardware and software within the farm.
- Collaborate with global teams, including silicon validation, to resolve technical challenges and ensure system availability.
- Lead critical debug operations, coordinating with internal and external teams.
- Work closely with the Farm-Development team and local PICs to enhance processes and infrastructure.
- Implement real-time monitoring and alert systems to proactively resolve issues.
- Analyze farm performance metrics to identify optimization opportunities and guide strategic improvements.
Qualifications:
- B.E/B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) or equivalent, or Computer Science (CSE) with 3+ years of experience in the hardware or silicon domain.
- Strong understanding of motherboard platforms, SoCs, and various PC hardware components like graphics cards, memory, and storage.
- Expertise in multiple operating systems, with a focus on Linux OS internals and proficiency in scripting (Python, Perl, TCL).
- Solid hardware and software debugging skills with a good grasp of debugging methodologies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective coordination across global teams.
- Proven problem-solving skills in resolving complex hardware and software challenges within the lab and farm infrastructure.
- Demonstrated leadership in guiding and mentoring team members while fostering a collaborative work environment.
