Position: Embedded Systems Testing Intern
Location: GE Power Conversion, Chennai
Role overview:
As an Embedded Systems Testing Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the development and validation of cutting-edge embedded systems within the Power Conversion division. This position is ideal for a technically driven individual with a strong foundation in Embedded Controllers, Drives, and Power Systems. You’ll support efforts in product development, software enhancement, and automated testing of embedded platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in upgrades and validation of embedded controllers and control platforms.
- Enhance testing for libraries, drivers, and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
- Design, develop, and enhance validation platforms to enable automated testing.
- Create and execute subsystem validation plans through research and analysis.
- Develop embedded applications using C/C++ and function block diagrams.
- Collaborate with mentors to clarify technical requirements and ensure project alignment.
- Provide documentation support for assigned projects.
- Apply training to create innovative solutions and proposals for automation.
- Support the overall project team with technical insights and assistance.
- Uphold a safety-oriented mindset, adhering to GE’s EHS standards and policies.
- Drive control, validation, and testing concepts, ensuring technical excellence.
- Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Embedded Systems from a recognized institution.
- Experience: 0-1 years of relevant experience.
- Skills: Proficiency in C/C++, Python, Embedded Systems, FPGA, and Digital Design.
Preferred characteristics:
- Strong grasp of control systems, DC/AC motors, high-voltage inverters, and electrical drives.
- Familiarity with microprocessors/microcontrollers.
- Practical knowledge gained through previous internships or academic projects in Embedded Systems.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and multitask under strict deadlines.
- Motivated learner with a passion for embedded systems and automation.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary, global team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an aptitude for quick debugging.
- Business acumen and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
