Qualcomm is hiring for the post of Systems Test Engineer.
Job duties and responsibilities:
The Systems Test Engineer is responsible for testing and modifying general systems-level software/hardware and ensuring they meet wireless specifications. This role includes designing test plans, scripts, and procedures; documenting defects using bug tracking tools; and collaborating with developers to address identified issues. Additionally, the engineer will analyze, troubleshoot, and document problems related to software functionality and performance.
- Completes tasks within set deadlines and focuses on timely work delivery.
- Understands the basic features of the systems being tested.
- Collects relevant information, like logs and requirements, to identify common errors in system testing.
- Collaborates within the team to achieve work objectives.
- Conducts log analyses to determine the origin of issues.
- Integrates and interprets data from multiple sources to troubleshoot problems.
- Assists in verifying that solutions to problems are accurate and effective.
- Uses basic debugging techniques to detect and resolve system bugs.
- Adapts to changes and manages pressure to meet deadlines.
- Manages project tasks and timelines with guidance from supervisors.
- Provides feedback on feature issues to software and systems teams.
- Discusses testing challenges with peers and managers to foster communication.
- Conducts field or lab tests as directed and makes simple decisions related to feature issues.
- Seeks input from team members for alternative approaches to problem-solving.
- Writes functional tests to ensure feature performance.
Level of responsibility:
- Works under close supervision, managing personal tasks with limited impact.
- Communicates routine information to others who are familiar with the subject matter.
- Completes tasks with multiple steps, requiring some planning and prioritization.
- Uses creativity to troubleshoot and solve technical issues, employing deductive reasoning for moderately complex problems.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
