Job description:
Qualcomm is seeking an energetic, creative, and self-driven engineer to work on cutting-edge technologies involving Modem, Multimedia, Connectivity, Computer Vision, and Image Processing. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on software implementation and hardware acceleration that directly impacts the performance and capabilities of the SoC subsystems.
This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with creativity and a passion for innovation. The ideal candidate will transform ideas into models, software, and hardware and collaborate with various teams to deliver real-world products that push the boundaries of wireless and multimedia technology.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize software and hardware solutions for Modem, Multimedia, Computer Vision, and Image Processing within the SoC subsystems.
- Perform detailed technical analysis and translate innovative ideas into working models, software implementations, and hardware solutions.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate these solutions into real-world products.
- Lead efforts in designing and developing SoC features, ensuring high efficiency, performance, and scalability.
- Influence various subsystems within the SoC by solving complex hardware and software challenges.
- Contribute to hardware acceleration and software development for multimedia, gaming, and application software in leading-edge mobile devices.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in one or more of the following:
- Verilog or VHDL, C/C++, Tcl/Perl/Shell-scripting.
- RTL design and/or object-oriented programming.
- Understanding of SoC verification with embedded RISC/DSP processors and networking ASICs.
- Knowledge of wireless/wired communications and protocols is a plus.
- Knowledge of PLL, LNA, OpAmp, CMOS, ADC/DAC, Cadence, SpectreRF, or layout in RF/Analog/Mixed Signal IC design.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, VLSI, Embedded and VLSI, ECE, or a related field.
- Experience with low power design, SoC validation and debug, and digital ASIC design.
- Familiarity with FPGA design, Design for Test (DFT), CAD solution engineering, and RF & Analog layout.
- Strong background in multimedia, graphics, or video technologies.
