Job description:
VIAVI is conducting an internship for Engineers in Chennai.
The intern will be working on software applications for the entire Test & Measurement portfolio of products. The main focus would be to develop test applications for new products in R&D as well as maintaining/supporting existing products in the market.
Responsibilities:
- Develop test applications for new products in R&D
- Maintain/Support existing products in the market
- Work closely with hardware engineers to understand the product under test
- Develop user interfaces for the application to enable users to configure the instrument and interpret results
- Develop algorithms for the application to perform calculations and data analysis
- Develop scripts for automating various tasks
- Troubleshoot issues reported by customers or found during internal testing
- Improve performance and memory usage of applications
- Port applications to different operating systems like Windows, Linux, macOS
Qualifications required:
- Candidates pursuing B.E/B.Tech or equivalent degree with specialization in Electronics Engineering or related field
- Good programming skills in C#, Python, Java, C++ or any other object oriented language
- Experience with Java script & Testing
- Knowledge of scripting languages like python, batch scripting etc
- Knowledge of databases like SQL Server, Oracle
- Experience with developing windows applications
- Good communication skills, should be able to communicate effectively with users and other stakeholders
- Should be a quick learner and self-motivated
- Previous experience with test equipment or electronics measurement instruments is desirable but not essential
