GE Vernova is conducting an internship for Engineers.
Duties and responsibilities:
Work on lightweight, scalable historian system for Linux, tailored for storing and analyzing time-series data from field devices and analytic outputs, being developed for the Advanced Controls team.
- Implementation of the historian service. The system is designed to ingest high-frequency data using MQTT, store it efficiently using TimescaleDB (a PostgreSQL extension optimized for time-series workloads), and expose REST APIs for data retrieval and visualization.
- Test the service to meet specifications using site data
- Develop PowerPoint presentations and other graphic presentations to communicate progress, share best practices, or to provide updates.
- May participate in early talent events, seminars or trainings.
- Perform assignments where trust and accuracy are required.
Qualifications required:
- Current enrolment in a degree program that will lead to a Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) from an accredited college/university
- Effective time management and organizational skills and able to balance multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written/communications skills.
Characteristics:
- Minimum 7/10 CGPA or equivalent, no active backlogs
- Proficiency in Java/Python, OOPS concepts, PostgreSQL or any other relational database, ReactJS
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Self-Starter, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal direction.
- Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and capable of working within a globally diverse team across different time zones.
