Job description:
Calix is looking for Graduate Trainees in Bangalore.
The duration of the internship program will be 1 year.
Duties and responsibilities:
In this role, you will work with cross functional teams ranging from PON, Ethernet switching and routing software, subscriber management for Triple Play services, performance monitoring to network management to build, integrate, unit test and support software modules within a large-scale system.
- Participate in technical discussions within engineering group in all phases of the SDLC: review requirements, produce design documents, participate in peer reviews, produce test plans, support QA team.
- Creating the required accompanying technical documentation.
- Add features to the existing frameworks.
- Support test strategy and automation in both end-to-end solution and functional testing.
Qualifications and other requirements:
- Familiar with Linux, x86 virtualization and Inter-process communication is necessary.
- Familiar with any of the programming languages like Java, C/C++ and scripting language like Python.
- Familiar with Protocols like TCP, UDP, IP, VLAN’s, NTP, xSTP, DHCP, DNS is necessary.
- Familiar in programming in a multi-thread/multi-process environment is necessary.
- Understanding Unit Testing principals.
- Must understand basic computer programming concepts, data structures, and object-oriented programming.
- Familiar with source control applications such as GIT.
- Strong communication skills and excellent telephone presence.
- Bachelor’s in computer science / information technology/ Electronics & communication / Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Should have graduated in 2025 / 2026.
