FormFactor is conducting a summer internship program for Mechanical Engineers.
The Summer Internship Program (10-12 weeks) provides students and recent grads with hands-on engineering and semiconductor industry experience.

Successful candidates must be available to commit to Track 1 or Track 2 of the Summer Intern Program:
Track 1: 5/31/2022 to 8/19/2022
Track 2: 6/13/2022 to 9/2/2022
Project Description:
Objective: The selected intern will be responsible for various mechanical design, analysis, and hands-on project tasks related to the performance characterization of critical probe card electromechanical components.
Tools/Applications/Equipment/Methods used:
- Candidates will be required to design, assemble, and verify test fixtures/equipment
- Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software (3D modeling, 2D drawing/detailing) required
- Proficiency with ANSYS Mechanical/Workbench FEA software (structural, thermal) required
- Experience with lab equipment (sensors, gauges, scopes), the collection of empirical data, and data analysis are required
- Experience with data science tools like Python/JMP is preferred but not required
- Experience in developing algorithms would be preferred.
- Work environment: (examples: R&D, Manufacturing, Production, Office, etc.)
- Candidates will work in an R&D environment, alternating as necessary between both office and lab settings
- Candidates will drive completion of defined project scope under light supervision from fellow Mechanical Engineering, Applications Engineering, and PCB Design personnel
Education, Experience and Skills:
- Preferred major(s): Mechanical Engineering
- Preferred level of education: Completion of minimum 3 years of BS program; Enrollment in an MS or PhD program preferred
Preferred coursework completed or skills already possessed:
- Excellent mechanical, electromechanical, thermal, quantitative, and analytical aptitude
- Strong academic performance history in core engineering courses (ie. mathematics, physics, statics, mechanics of materials, heat transfer, electrical engineering fundamentals)
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Hands-on experience with fabricating and troubleshooting electromechanical assemblies
