Job description:
Atkins is looking for Trainee Designer – BIM to join the team. This role will be based at Atkins office in Bangalore, IN.
Job duties and responsibilities:
To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Producing BIM Models and CAD drawings to a high standards & codes.
- Coordination with other BIM/CAD technicians in the production of Models and drawings.
- Responding to client directions in a receptive and customer focused manner.
- Maintaining technical quality standards.
- Apply Atkins’ Quality, Safety & Environmental (QSE) standards and Business Management System (BMS).
- Assist senior engineers and technicians in the studies and design of road and airport transport projects.
- Write estimates, quantity calculations and estimates related to transportation projects.
- Supervise work in accordance with plans and specifications.
- Measure the works carried out, compile the quantities and prepare the documents required by our clients.
Qualifications and other requirements:
- Civil / Electrical / Mechanical Diploma or B-Tech with 70% aggregate marks in the final examination.
- Freshers and up to 6 months experience of relevant experience in consultancy business working on BIM models or drawings for Transportation industry.
- Thorough knowledge of Civil Engineering elements.
- Knowledge of advanced technologies in the Civil, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering industry.
- Able to independently produce engineering models and drawings to a high standard.
- Ability to work from Engineers’ calculations and designs as appropriate in producing full working BIM models and drawings, including GA and details and schedules, with the minimum supervision.
- AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering standards and specifications.
- Computer literacy e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Good Written & Verbal Communication.
Desirable Requirements:
- Excellent command of design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads, AutoTurn, etc.).
- A knack for programming e.g., AutoLISP or similar.
- Autodesk certification.
- Working knowledge of British Standards.
- Fluency in French (spoken and written).
- Working experience on Canada projects would be an added advantage.

- Willingness to relocate in India or abroad for short durations would be an advantage.
