Job description:
ABB is conducting an interview for the post of Power System Engineer.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- You will be working as Engineer – Power Systems, reporting to Business Manager – Portfolio for Electrification Business Area for Distribution Solutions Division based in Nashik.
- You will be responsible for studying the customer power system requirements, consulting customers globally on available solutions, assisting in making technical proposals and preforming power systems studies for complex systems.
- The individual will also be responsible for guiding junior engineers to improve their technical skills and enable them to independently conduct power system studies.
Essential responsibilities:
- Perform power system studies like load flow, short circuit, motor starting, protective device coordination, arc flash, transient stability, system impact studies, harmonic studies, grounding & lightning analyses.
- Support and conduct electromagnetic transient studies.
- Coordinate activities with the global Power Studies and Consulting team.
- Prepare accurate, clearly written, well-organized technical reports.
- Model projects using typical power system study software like ETAP, PowerFactory, SKM, EasyPower etc.
- Specify equipment ratings and project design parameters based on studies.
- Take ownership of deliverables to meet client expectations.
- Provide support and technical guidance to a team of junior power system engineers
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical / Power Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in similar role.
- Fresh graduates with passion for power system engineering are also welcome.
- Basic knowledge of international standards such as IEC, IEEE, NFPA etc…
- Basic knowledge of advanced power system study software tools such as PSCAD, EMTP etc. is a plus
- Affinity towards programming (Excel VBA, SQL, Python) and automating the daily work routines.
- High self-motivation with ability to organize, schedule, prioritize, and multi-task in a dynamic environment
- Strong communication skills and willingness to travel internationally.
