Job description:
GlobalFoundries is conducting an interview for the post of Analog Design Intern.
Introduction:
This position is for a Analog/IO Design Engineer Intern who will work on Analog/IO related topics. The successful candidate needs to have a good background in CMOS basics, single stage CMOS circuits, and needs to be a team player with a solution-oriented approach.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Work on design and verifications for IO and Analog blocks (GPIO, LVDS, Bias circuits, etc)
- Create required testbenches and perform DC, AC, Transient, STB, EMIR simulations
- Create design documents and involve in Design reviews
- Be a creative problem solver, and look for innovation in design
- Work with cross-geo, cross-vertical teams to understand requirements and communicate resolution
Qualifications required:
- Masters/Ph.D. in Microelectronics or a related discipline
- Good understanding of Standard CMOS, FinFet and SOI technologies
- Solid understanding of small signal and feedback concepts
- Solid understanding of circuit analyses methods
- Good understanding of basic Analog blocks – 2 stage Opamp, Bandgap Reference, Basic bias circuits, etc.
- Ability to derive specifications for simple blocks using calculations
- Working knowledge of Cadence tools – Virtuoso schematic editor, ADE-XL, Spectre
- Basic understanding of layout concepts
- Must have good technical verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with cross functional teams is necessary
- Be able to collaborate with program and technical design leads on multiple concurrent projects.
- Should have excellent problem-solving skills, written & oral communication, teaming & interpersonal skills
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
- Language Fluency – Fluent in English Language – written & verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of scripting languages like Python/Perl
- Familiarity with standard engineering practices like Version Control systems, Configuration Management and Regression process
