Exciting opportunity for a Field Service Engineer (FSE) to join the dynamic team at FOSS India.
Full-time position with up to 90-100% travel within the southern part of India. Base location in Chennai, with responsibilities covering installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of analytical/spectroscopy instruments. Perfect role for an Engineer in Instrumentation/Electronics with 1-2 years of experience as a Service Engineer.
Job duties and responsibilities:
Join the team as a Field Service Engineer (FSE), where you’ll be the first line of support for technical solutions at customer sites. You’ll install, commission, maintain, and repair FOSS instruments throughout southern India and provide timely technical reports. Collaborate closely with sales and technical teams, build strong customer relationships, and ensure quality service support for our regional distributors. Handle incoming support incidents, resolve customer calls, and escalate issues as needed. Reporting to the OPE & Service Director, you’ll work closely with FOSS colleagues and interact daily with customers.
Qualifications and experience required:
- Engineer in Instrumentation/Electronics with 1-2 years of service engineer experience.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication in English.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Customer-focused approach with excellent interpersonal skills.
