Texas Instruments is conducting an interview for the post of Applications Engineer.
About the group:
The Power Switches group provides power-path protection solutions across all the market segments. The portfolio includes a wide range of products including eFuses, hot-swap controllers, ideal-diode controllers and Smart High-Side controllers.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Provide customer support for the power switch products
- Monitoring and responding to E2E forum questions, promoting TI products and providing appropriate technical solutions to customers to solve their design challenges
- Enable customers as they select, evaluate, design and develop their products for production ramp. Provide technical support including schematic and layout reviews
- On-site customer debug, support and promotion
- Build, design, document and test EVMs for new products.
- Develop PSpice models, FW and GUI development. Perform new silicon validation for the system use cases
- Work closely with the business development team for competition analysis, customer support and product marketing.
- Propose new product ideas based on customer challenges & emerging market needs
- Develop collateral based on the customer learnings, competition analysis and successful designs with a special focus on creating web-based technical content like Application notes, reference designs etc.
- Provide technical training to customers and field teams with collateral and direct visits
Qualifications and experience required:
- 1-2 Years of experience and hands-on knowledge of Applications Engineering for Power Management products
- Strong fundamentals in circuit analysis, gate driver ICs and MOSFETs
- Experienced in designing and reviewing power-based hardware schematics and PCB layouts
- Strong problem solving, analytical and debugging skills
- Hands-on experience with CAD/PCB tools like: Altium, Cadence Orcad, Allegro.
- Hands on experience with Power Simulation tools (PSpice, TINA, Simplis, Simetrix)
- Familiar with the use of all necessary lab equipment: oscilloscope, power supplies, gain/phase analyzers, multi-meters, solder station, etc.
- Able to manage multiple projects and schedules and takes initiative to identify issues and execute solutions
- Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
- Must be organized, self-motivated and passionate about the work
- Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/ Electrical Engineering or Master’s degree in Power electronics
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Experience on writing application notes, user’s guides, validation reports and other technical communication deliverables.
- Experience on reviewing new product definitions with respect to application related issues
- Experience on collaboration with multiple functional groups within the business unit to successfully bring new products from initial concept to production
