Job description:
Wood is conducting an interview for the post of Graduate Engineer Trainee.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Support senior and lead engineers to deliver the following:
- Desktop study for pipeline route, prepare preliminary pipeline route map with possible options.
- Prepare scope of work for pipeline surveys; evaluate survey contractor’s bids; during execution coordinate with survey contractors; review and approve survey reports.
- Carry out site visit to client facilities as required. Site survey and data collection, system adequacy checks.
- Perform all Pipeline related calculations, studies and Reports such as wall thickness and grade, upheaval buckling, stress analysis, road crossing and prepare reports
- Prepare Pipeline engineering deliverables such as Basis of Design, Philosophies, Specifications, Typical drawings, Data sheets.
- Ensure all Pipeline engineering deliverables are prepared and issued in adherence with project schedule, tender requirements, Client specifications & standards, fit for purpose and with quality and complete the project within the budgeted hours.
- Prepare documentation such as material take offs, Material Requisitions.
- Perform technical bid evaluation of bidders’ offers and prepare TBE report.
- Perform vendor deliverables review and ensure its incorporation in engineering design where applicable.
- Provide inputs to Piping disciplines regarding pipeline stress analysis and to Civil or foundation design.
- Actively participate in workshops such as Design Review, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, Constructability Reviews, as required.
- Liaise with the Client and Vendors for project specific needs.
- Liaises with designers, provides input for the preparation of drawings and details
Qualifications required:
- B.E Mechanical or B.Tech Mechanical from recognized university.
- Strong basic technical knowledge in the relevant discipline.
- Strong design and analytical skills with problem solving ability.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks. Must be self-motivated, results oriented, and be flexible to work well under tight schedules in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team environment.
