Job description:
Element has an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join the team. This is a great opportunity to develop your career within a Global TIC business.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Perform tests as directed by customer specifications
- Analyze and compile testing data from the tests performed
- Operate under the supervision of a more senior test technician and/or a Department Manager
- Interact periodically with customers
- Schedule internal calibration of equipment
- Gather and record test data
- Construct and maintain various test fixtures and other laboratory equipment to ensure proper working order with little supervision
Skills / Qualifications required:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Metallurgical Engineering/Industrial Engineering
- 1-2 years experience in similar industry with hands on experience in conventional UTM, Instron, Impact testing and knowledge on metallurgy is preferred
- Knowledge on dimension measurement is an added advantage
- Self motivated Technician with the ability to multi task, organise and work under the pressure within a busy commercial mechanical testing laboratory
- Excellent attention to detail along with strong written and verbal communication skills and knowledge on local language
- A team player attitude, excellent analytical and problem solving skills
