Job description:
Synopsys is seeking to hire a skilled Software Engineer to help with the development of VLSI design automation tool.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Your duties will primarily revolve around building software by writing code, as well as modifying software to fix errors, improve its performance, or upgrade existing implementations/algorithms.
- You will also be involved in helping with system testing and validation procedures, and also working with customers/other departments on technical issues including software system design and maintenance. Understanding of digital design and circuit and devices is expected.
- To be successful in this role, you will need understanding of programming languages and the software development life-cycle. Bachelor’s /Master’s degree in computer science or electronics is required.
Essential responsibilities:
Develop software for:
- Modifying software to fix errors, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces.
- Testing and validation of software
- Directing software programming and documentation development.
- Consulting with solutions team or customers for requirement gathering.
- Working with customers on technical issues including software system design and maintenance.
- Improving software quality matrices
- Writing specifications for new projects
- Designing and developing software systems using scientific exploration and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and design consequences.
- Preparing reports on programming project specifications, activities, or status.
- Conferring with project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities.
Qualifications and other requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science / electronics
- Understanding of the software development life-cycle.
- The desire to work in fast-paced environment.
- Ability to develop unit testing of code components or complete applications.
- Self-starter, knowledge seeker, explorer of new technologies
- Good programming language knowledge.
