Job description:
ABB is conducting an interview for the post of Design Engineer.
This is an Design Engineer – Mech role reporting to Manufacturing Unit Manager in Process Automation Business Area, based out of Bangalore; India. You will be primarily responsible for 3D modelling, drafting, Mechanical design & drafting of Excitation system panels.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Preparing engineering drawings in collaboration with engineering specialists using CAD system.
- Providing relevant information pertaining to drafting assignment to engineering team.
- Providing coaching and guidance to less experienced colleagues.
- Ensuring accurate application and implementation of standard processes and tools in preparing accurate drawings.
- Following the work schedule for one’s area of responsibility.
- Delivering on agreed timeline, cost estimate and set quality standards.
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical (Mech) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Hands on experience in Auto Cad, Solid Works, Solid edge & Pro-E, Creo.
- Hands on experience on Design/Migration/Conversion activities.
- Strong engineering background with knowledge of Sheet metal design & Busbar sizing.
- Preparation of detailed drawings from preliminary design.
