Job description:
KONE is looking for a Graduate Engineer Trainee in Chennai, India.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- As a GET you will have an opportunity to learn, grow and succeed as a product cost engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) whose roles and responsibilities looks similar but not limited to below
- Plan cases together with other team members, request and acquire data like 2D/3D models, work as a team member to perform
- Should Cost Analysis utilizing best practices, tools and methods.
- Validate and review your product cost with the stakeholders.
- When requested, participate in supplier negotiations with Sourcing, design reviews with Technology & Innovation teams, etc.
- Participate in development of new Should Cost Analysis methods, tools, and processes, and in calibration of Should Costing assumptions e.g. by doing time studies, teardown activities, etc.
Eligibility criteria:
- Postgraduate or Undergraduate Engineering degree (Mechanical, EEE, ECE) with good academic grades
- Open to engineering graduates who is willing to start their career as GET in KONE R&D facility.
Primary Skills:
Deep knowledge of manufacturing process e.g. sheet metal, machining, plastics, PCBA, wire harness, etc. Good communication skills to work efficiently with team members and internal & external stakeholders Motivation to work in and with agile, cross-functional, and multicultural teams Proficient in MS Office Organized, team player and self-motivated.
Secondary Skills:
Understanding of mechanical or electrical product cost analysis concepts Understanding of electrical component price benchmarking. Product cost management software (aPriori or other) experience preferred.
