Job description:
Microchip Technology is conducting an interview for the post of PCB Layout Engineer.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Design and implement PCB layout that meets Electrical, EMC, Mechanical, Thermal and DFA/DFM requirements
- Ownership of the PCB layout design from feasibility studies to board tape-out
- Perform PCB design reviews using Altium Designer and design analysis for reliability, manufacturability and quality
- Generate schematic symbols and footprints with respect to IPC standards, creation of library
- Understanding of component datasheet, Generate all supporting documentation, drawings and collateral
- Interact with Manufacturing Engineers and PCB vendors to support board builds
- Manage multiple priorities and activities simultaneously
- Work independently and proactively with Design Engineers to meet schedule
Requirements/Qualifications:
- 2 – 4 years of experience in PCB layout design.
- Experience with all stages of HW Board Design and Development
- Experience in multilayer PCB design; Experience in Altium Designer, Allegro
- Understand PCB manufacturing process, technology and surface mount assembly process
- Knowledge on PCB panel design, CAD/CAM experience is preferable
- Prefered experience in RF and High speed layout design
- Leading Customer communication and reviewing customer boards
- Strong presentation skills, written and verbal communication skills, and ability to synthsize complex information into clear messages
Minimum required education qualification:
Diploma in CAD or equivalent, BE in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
