Job description:

GKN is seeking motivated Post Graduate Software and Hardware Engineers to join the team who are passionate to work in a cutting-edge technology in Automotive Embedded Systems domain. The role can be based in the office or remotely with time in the engineering lab when required.

GKN is looking for PostGraduate Engineers in many areas that includes but not limited to:

  • Embedded System Design and Development
  • Embedded Software Design and Development
  • Embedded System and Software Validation
  • Electronic Control Unit Hardware Design
  • Electronic Control Unit Hardware Testing

You will have the opportunity to join a structured training programme with a combination of classroom and lab time, after which you’ll join a project and be assigned a mentor to continue your development on the job. There will also be frequent opportunities to present what you have learned and engage with the local leadership team.

Job duties and responsibilities:

Enabled through the ongoing training, your key responsibilities will include:

  • The development and integration of embedded software for Powertrain Electrical Control Units (ECU’s)
  • Preparation of detailed designs including technical safety concepts, ensuring compliance with internal and external functional safety standards
  • The implementation and application of software using state-of-the-art methods and tools
    Supporting software design verification and code review, static analysis, and unit testing.
  • The delivery of software components for integration and supporting the project team in the planning and coordination of key activities.
  • Analysing defects and supporting any required changes as needed.

Must be fluent in English

To be successful in this position you will have a relevant qualification as Engineer or Master’s in Engineering and the drive and motivation to apply what you have learned in a professional and innovative environment. You’ll be motivated to learn new things, curious and open to bringing new ideas as you learn existing methods.

Job location:

  • The job is based out of GKN Automotive Bengaluru office.
  • Occasional travel to Germany or USA is possible
  • All selected Engineers are expected to be in office in Bengaluru for first 6 months. During this time, candidates will go through training on GKN Products and understand the Project and our Lab infrastructure.
  • After 6 months of training our candidates can opt to work from home but they have to come to the Lab once in a while if their Project demands so. (The frequency can by once in a week or twice in a week)
