Seagate is conducting an interview for the post of VLSI Engineer I.
About the group:
The group is part of Seagate’s VLSI Organization spread globally across multiple sites. Seagate designs world class controller SoCs for their HDDs. The group in Pune participates in design and verification activities of these complex SoCs. This group has some of the best talent from the industry and has taped out many controller chips.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Work in the Seagate VLSI group on functional verification of IP & SOCs of HDD controller chipset
- Work with other Seagate engineers across multiple sites to verify IP and SoCs for use in high-volume storage devices
- Develop Test-bench & Reference models in IP & SoC level verification environments
- Work closely with design engineers to create constrained random based test-benches and test cases to meet the required functional and code coverage metrics with System Verilog using VCS
- Provide support to the SoC environment in terms of overall tool debugging, script development, and revision control use
- Work with Seagate and vendor design teams to ensure smooth delivery of IP verification suites into the integration environment
- Writing test cases, as needed, to enhance functional coverage
- Document and Implement Verification Plans
- Debug and help resolve test failures
- Create reusable verification environments to be used across multiple teams

Your experience includes:
- Knowledge of ASIC design flow and tools
- Good understanding of Circuit design, Logic design, Setup time, Hold time, Combinatorial and Sequential circuits, CMOS and Power consumption
- Experience with Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL
- Knowledge and experience with UVM verification methodology
- Experience in use of techniques to collect code and functional coverage
- Experience in use of assertions
- Experience with serial storage interfaces such as SATA, SAS and PCIe is a plus
- Knowledge of disc drive controller architecture is a strong plus
- Troubleshooting skills and ability to trace causes of a test case failure
- C++ or other OOP languages with strong background in OOP concepts
- Scripting skills in Perl, TCL/TK, and C shell
- Self-motivated & a strong team player
- Strong debug and analytical skills
- Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies
- Ability to interface effectively with many diverse groups and people across multiple locations
- Self-starter and self-motivated personality
