Job description:
ABB is conducting an interview for the post of Product Specialist.
Job duties and responsibilities:
You will be working as Product Specialist-Rolling Stock Converters and will be part of Motion Business Area for Traction Division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to Product Manager and will be responsible to support the Product Manager to optimize the offering portfolio and return on investment. Ensure ABB has a full understanding of market requirements in a specific area and is able to transform these requirements into offering specifications and development activities. Perform various offering life cycle activities supporting development, launch, maintenance, pricing and profitability.
Essential responsibilities:
- Supports in product costing, localization, second source and profitability of the product
- Extracting relevant information from the top-level requirements and perform initial sizing of equipment through simulation in electrical software like MatLab etc
- Interfacing with customer for finalizing specification, product development, design/FAI approval and product performance & reliability
- Preparing and managing technical bidding documentation including design documents, RAMS requirements, simulation reports and other supporting documents
- Working closely with sales, marketing team, engineering & service team for bidding, new proposal to penetrate in different segment of business and product life cycle management
- Support in Engineering Documentation like design document, test specification, test report etc
- Assisting in resolution of customer offering issues and accompany internal partners to customer sites
- Delivering new offering training to internal teams and customers
Qualifications and experience required:
- B.Tech / M.Tech in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Power Electronics
- Around 0-3 years of relevant experience in Rolling stock for locomotive/EMU/Metro/E-vehicle with traction converter, auxiliary converter, battery chargers, energy storage systems
- Basic knowledge on power electronics, rectifier and inverter topology
- Knowledge of Power and control circuit analysis
- Testing of different type of power converter
- Good communication with presentation skills
- Understanding of train/ vehicle level operation and system engineering pertaining to traction chain is an added advantage
