ABB is conducting an interview for the post of Electrical Design Engineer.
Job duties and responsibilities:
You will be working as Engineer Electrical Design and will be part of Motion Business Area for Large motors and generators Division based in Vadodara, India.
In this role you will be reporting to Engineering manager. Design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects, cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.
- Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques and procedures to perform engineering assignments.
- Provides technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Prepares project documentation within one’s scope of deliverables.
Customer and Sales - Finalizes ‘Fail-Safe Philosophy’ and other key concepts as part of Kick-Off and Design Freeze Meetings.
- Actively participates project meetings and resolves any outstanding technical issues to meet contractual obligations.
- Assists in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.).
- Technical leadership and knowledge sharing
- Applies basic Design Thinking / Design for Excellence concepts in projects.
- Actively utilizes checklists to perform design verification according applicable standards and engineering guidelines.
- Contributes and shares experiences in workshops pertaining to engineering design, tools, and processes.
- Shares best practices Lessons-Learned documentation across different projects and disciplines.
Qualifications and experience required:
- Graduate Electrical Engineer with 0 to 5 years of experience
- Uses standard processes and tools applicable to one’s area of responsibility.
- Ensures that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements.
- Reports processes and tools inefficiencies and suggests improvements ideas.
