Job description:

Ciena is conducting an interview for Engineers in Gurgaon.

Six Month work term: Jan, 2024 – June, 2024

The key objective of this role is to ensure that our customer receive a high-quality product that fulfills network deployment requirements of Ciena’s customers and helps them achieve their operational and performance objectives.
This role requires understanding system architecture, features, UIs including device/network management systems and customer network applications of Packet Optical Platforms. It involves documenting captive lab network design mimicking deployed/expected network deployments, documenting/performing tests for validating system behavior, documenting any deviation from desired behavior including analysis of logs to characterize system behavior and working with system design to get resolution of issues.
Support senior verifiers in designing, documenting, and building test environment.
Understanding features targeted in a release, identifying customer network deployment and operational scenarios for the features and documenting tests for their validation.
Performing tests in captive lab network using device/network management system and NBIs
Identifying automation requirements for the tests and coding test scenarios in python/tcl in Ciena’s proprietary test automation framework
Document and report deviations in system behavior in Defect Tracking System and work with system design to take them to closure.
Collaborating with verification and design team members to achieve release goals.
Regular updates to the manager on project/assignment status are expected.

Good knowledge of Telecommunication technologies (optical/satellite/microwave networks), and digital modulation techniques (ASK, PSK, QAM, etc.)
Strong programming skills in any language python/c/c++ and experience in Linux environment.
Familiarity with distributed systems and their architecture.
