Job description:
ABB is conducting an interview for the post of Test Engineer.
You will be working as Test Engineer and will be part of Motion Business Area for Traction Division based in Vadodara, India. In this role you will be reporting to Quality Control Specialist and will be responsible for conducting Type and Routine test, verification, Validation and customer inspection activities for assignments of low/medium testing complexity of systems, subsystems, or products effectively and cost-efficiently, and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Executing testing according to schedule. Preparing project test documentation and providing technical support during installation of test objects in the test area, should have knowledge/ experience of Drives and converters
- Assisting the preparation of proposals for engineering projects in one’s area of responsibility
- Following work plans and cost estimates for work in one’s area of responsibility. Ensuring quality timely implementation within targeted cost
- Making risk assessments in one’s area of responsibility to assure safe systems of work and taking appropriate actions. Reporting contract/quality/program/cost issues to management
- Assisting with customer or official contacts and communication pertaining to test assignments or meetings
- Maintaining network of engineering professionals and sharing best practice across different project
- Using standard processes and tools. Supervising Engineers / Service support engineers
Qualifications and experience required:
- Diploma/ BE/ B Tech in Electrical and Electronics
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in testing of rolling stock products
- Working knowledge on conducting the Type and Routine test as per IEC-61287
- Knowledge in Visio, E3 schema software will be an added advantage
- Excellent communication skills
