Woodward is hiring Electronics or Electrical Engineers In Gurgaon.
Job duties and responsibilities:
Position purpose:
Under general supervision, records and performs testing of production components, control systems and cabinets to Woodward specifications. This position performs entry level of troubleshooting and repair of production units. This position reports to the Operations Supervisor.
Essential functions:
- Tests production modules and/or systems following written procedures at basic level
- Troubleshoots failing units down to the component level under close supervision
- Creates documentation as required by written procedures
- Collaborates with Engineering to develop and improve Woodward testing capabilities
- Follows Test Specification Procedures (TSP) as required
- May conduct on the job training of others
- Supports continuous improvement activities
Other functions:
- May assemble controls and/or cabinets
- Performs Quality tests as required
- Performs non-conformance reporting and transactions
- Electronics Technician Only
- Rework printed circuit boards using common soldering tools per applicable standards at basic level
Knowledge/skills/abilities:
- Basic knowledge of electro-mechanical theory
- Basic ability to apply a systematic problem solving approach
- Ability to read and understand many different types of documentation (i.e. schematics, build books, bills of materials)
- Ability to learn and apply a variety of basic computer applications
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Ability to perform module replacements, wiring and cabling according to wiring diagrams, schematics and engineering drawings
- Basic ability to troubleshoot to a modular level
- Basic written/verbal communication skills
Electrical Technician only:
Basic knowledge of electrical theory including analog and digital circuits
Electronics Technician only:
Basic ability to remove and replace Through-hole Technology (THT) and basic Surface- Mount Technology (SMT) devices using modern soldering techniques
Education or Formal Training:
- In US: Associate of Applied Science degree in Electronics or Associates of Applied Science degree with electronics coursework (or equivalent military experience) required
- In Germany: Associate degree
- In Poland: Technician degree on electrical/ electronics or equivalent
Experience required:
- No experience required for new degree recipients
Materials and Equipment Used:
- PC’S including word processing applications, spreadsheets and Woodward proprietary applications
- Standard hand tools
- Standard electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, and power supplies
- Automated test stands designed by Woodward
Working Environment/ Physical Activities:
- Work hours required to meet production needs (multiple shifts, overtime, weekend, holidays, as required).
- Production environment with possible exposure to noise, dust, electromagnetic fields and temperatures above 80 degrees Fahrenheit/27 degrees Celsius
- Requires lifting up to 30 lbs/14 kg occasionally
- Standing and bending throughout shift
- May be required to pass Near Vision and/or Color Vision examinations
- May need to use protective equipment as required in the assigned work area
