Job description:

Texas Instruments is hiring Validation Engineers.

Primary responsibilities:

As a Validation Engineer, your role involves validating firmware modules on both pre-silicon and silicon platforms for embedded systems. You’ll also develop tools for test automation and automate build and test execution. Collaborating with Systems, Architecture, FW Development, SoC Design, and Verification teams, you’ll optimize software components.

  • Developing test cases and test frameworks to validate firmware deliverables for code quality, coverage, and defects with test traceability.
  • Automating build and tests with continuous integration via Jenkins to enable build and test reports, along with static and dynamic analysis of code.
  • Debugging device drivers, applications, and validation platforms to facilitate automation.
  • Analyzing and writing test procedures for the developed components.
  • Developing test automation software and test scripts, optimizing tests for execution time and coverage.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • 1-2 years of industry experience in firmware build and validation on embedded devices.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Skills needed:

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and Python.
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration using Jenkins and GIT.
  • Developing unit tests for code validation, coverage, and quality.
  • Creating automated test cases using host-based tools like Python, Shell, and TCL, along with methods to optimize SW testing activities through automation.
  • Troubleshooting and root causing complex problems, setting up firmware release processes, and regressions.
  • Maintaining test cases, plans, procedures, and results in test link.
  • Developing host-based tools with Python to enable test automation.
  • Utilizing defect tracking tools to report validation status and product quality.
  • Understanding requirements and writing test specifications for different ASIL levels.
  • Familiarity with software tools used to configure SW, drivers, and applications.
