NTT Data is hiring for the post of Junior Microsoft Engineers.
Job duties and responsibilities:
The Cloud Managed Services Engineer (L1) plays a pivotal role in delivering support and monitoring managed services for clients’ cloud-based environments. This position involves proactive identification, investigation, and resolution of cloud-based incidents, service requests, and alerts, with the primary aim of ensuring zero missed service level agreement (SLA) conditions. Focusing on first-line support for standard and low-complexity incidents and service requests, the objective is to ensure the smooth operation and optimization of clients’ cloud infrastructure and services.
Additionally, this role may contribute to or support project work as needed.
- Monitor client infrastructure and solutions
- Identify problems and errors before or when they occur
- Routinely identify common incidents and opportunities for avoidance, as well as general opportunities for incident reduction
- Investigate first-line incidents assigned and identify the root cause of incidents and problems
- Fulfill approved requests following agreed procedures
- Provide telephonic or chat support to clients when required
- Execute approved maintenance activities, including patching and configuration changes
- Follow required handover procedures for shift changes to ensure service continuity
- Report and escalate incidents when necessary
- Ensure efficient and comprehensive resolution of incidents and requests
- Proactively identify opportunities for work optimization
- Update existing knowledge articles or create new ones
- Identify opportunities for work optimization, including automation of work, request fulfillment, incident resolution, and other process improvement opportunities
- May contribute to or support project work as needed
- May work on implementing and delivering Disaster Recovery functions and tests
Desired skills:
- Proficiency in Windows Servers 2012, 2016, 2019
- Experience with Windows patching
- Familiarity with VMware and failover cluster technologies
- Knowledge of Active Directory (AD), DNS, and DHCP
- Understanding of disk adds, storage adds, etc.
- Familiarity with Azure and O365 is advantageous
- Basic hardware knowledge is beneficial
- Experience with migration, particularly on P2V and storage, is beneficial

Academic qualifications and certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Information Technology/Computing (or equivalent work experience)
- Relevant certifications in the field carry additional weightage
Required experience:
- Entry-level experience or completion of the relevant intern program
- Entry-level experience managing platforms, including a combination of Windows Server Administration, Linux Server Administration, Virtualization Administration, Server Hardware, and Storage Administration
- Basic knowledge of management agents, redundancy concepts, and products within the supported technical domain
