Job description:
Emerson is conducting an interview for the post of DCS Engineer.
Job duties and responsibilities:
Project Engineering:
- Design/Implementation of controls from SAMA /Functional diagrams
- Implementation of graphics from sketches/snapshots
- Creation/modification of Ovation Internal Point Database
- Implementation of Simulation logics for First-Pass Test
- Virtual controller setup for testing purpose
- Testing of implemented controls and graphics & troubleshooting while testing
- Follow Department Quality processes and procedures
- Scaling of Open loops & closed loops as per the ranges in the HW database
- Use various Productivity tools such as DBID tool, Audit Tool, Database Productivity Tool, Device builder etc.
- Conversion of controls and graphics of Third Party DCS/PLC systems to Ovation
- Third Party Communication
- Support Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) activities
- DCS erection supervision and commissioning at site
Technical / Professional:
- Knowledge of Power Plant Process
- Understanding of SAMA/Functional diagrams
- Knowledge of MS-Access & MS-Excel
- Knowledge of Third Party Communication Protocols
- Knowledge of DCS/PLC HW structure
- Knowledge of Logic & Graphics of Third Party DCS/PLC
- Tie-Back Simulation, Testing & Troubleshooting
- Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)
- DCS/PLC Commissioning & Troubleshooting
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation/Power Engineering with 1- 4 year of experience in process industry preferably in power plant
- Basic knowledge of Distributed Control Systems and Power Plant/ Water and Waste Water process
