GE is conducting an internship for Engineers.

Job duties and responsibilities:

  • As a Research Intern in the Mechanics and Design Organization, you will work with the engineering team in the design, analysis, testing, and validation of rotating machinery components for aviation gas turbine engines.
  • Exposure to rotating machinery design projects
  • Exposure to design, analysis, and testing of rotating machinery components and systems including conceptual design, detailed design, testing, validation, and product implementation.
  • Prepare and participate in project and technical reviews.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Pursuing PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Applied Mechanics
  • Experience with design, analysis (including finite element analysis) and testing of rotating machinery components (e.g., shafts, bearings, dampers, couplings, seals, gears)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Execution mindset and sense of urgency.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a global team environment.

Desired characteristics:

Strong fundamentals in areas related to mechanics of solids, dynamics, machine design, numerical methods and/ or testing
