Job description:
Valeo is hiring a CAD Intern in Chennai.
As a CAD Specialist, you will be proficient in CAD software and responsible for defining 3D or 2D CAD models based on design specifications provided by PTM RD/Design Leaders/Design Engineers. Your main focus will be on creating 3D models that align with mould/plastics constraints, ensuring no clashes with other components, and adhering to mechanical constraints. Additionally, you will be responsible for defining accurate 2D drawings that comply with drawing rules, layout, and functional tolerances.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- CAD Model Definition: Create 3D models that meet the required design specifications and standards. Ensure the quality of CAD models using CAD quality tools and checklists.
- Component Design: Take ownership of the 2D/3D definition of your assigned components or parts, ensuring compliance with Branch CAD methodology rules and quality standards.
- Technical Definitions: Define small technical elements such as clips, locating features, and local area designs like standard integration, strengthen ribs, and harness.
- Quality Procedures: Follow and promote quality procedures to maintain high CAD data integrity.
- CAD Data Management: Validate and manage all CAD data related to your project using VLS Branch PDM/PLM systems.
- Task Management: If required, oversee and guide CAD operators in their tasks. Plan, define, and control CAD Work Orders tasks as needed.
CAD key skills:
- Automotive experience, with expertise in Exterior Lighting, Headlamp, and Rear lamp design.
- Application of Plastics and familiarity with Plastics Mould/Tooling.
- Strong Product Design and Product Engineering knowledge, particularly in CATIA V5 software.
CAS – Computer Aided Styling:
As a CAS Specialist, you will be involved in computer-aided styling of Headlamps and Rear lamps in collaboration with the P1 team. Your role will revolve around seeking design innovations in lighting and signalling, participating in style branch networks, and contributing to Benchmarking activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Design Proposals: Develop design proposals using sketches, 3D models, and renderings. Follow the development of products and make creative design suggestions.
- New Ideas Implementation: Participate in the design and implementation of models to introduce and promote new ideas in styling.
- Valeo Design Process: Collaborate with the Valeo design process, including Design Reviews (DR), and other relevant procedures.
CAS key skills:
- Strong creativity and the ability to interpret styling requirements effectively.
- Skilled in sketching and Automotive A-Surface conceiving, with knowledge of aerodynamics.
- Familiarity with Cosmetics features in Styling software applications.
- Understanding of Plastics application and Plastics Mould/Tooling.
Qualifications:
- Education: Pursuing a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Work experience: No prior experience required.
- Language: Proficient in English.
