IdeaForge is conducting an internship for Engineers.

As an Electronics & Sensors Engineering Intern, you’ll immerse yourself in the dynamic field of drone technology, collaborating with seasoned engineers to contribute to the development of high-performance drones across diverse industries.

Job duties and responsibilities:

Electronics Integration:

Collaborate with our hardware engineering team to seamlessly integrate electronic components like flight controllers, power systems, motors, and communication modules into drone platforms.
Ensure flawless electrical connections, circuit designs, and component compatibility to optimize performance and reliability.
Contribute to creating and updating documentation related to electronics integration, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and component specifications.

Sensor Integration:

Participate in integrating various sensors into drone systems, including GPS, IMU, altimeters, cameras, LiDAR, and thermal imaging devices.
Assist in developing solutions for sensor mounting and optimizing their placement to ensure accurate data acquisition and reliable performance.
Learn to interface sensors with flight controllers, ensuring proper calibration and synchronization for precise measurements and control.

Testing and validation:

Contribute to developing and executing test plans, protocols, and procedures to verify the performance, functionality, and safety of integrated electronic systems and sensors.
Gain hands-on experience in conducting comprehensive testing, encompassing functional testing, environmental testing, EMC testing, and system-level integration testing.
Collaborate with experienced engineers to analyze and interpret test results, identifying potential issues or anomalies and working on resolutions.

Quality assurance:

Work closely with the quality assurance team to establish quality standards, specifications, and inspection criteria for electronic and sensor integration.
Participate in design reviews, offering technical input to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and evaluate product performance and reliability throughout the development lifecycle, providing suggestions for improvements and contributing to continuous enhancement efforts.

Qualifications required:

Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, with a preference for those pursuing a master’s degree.
Strong interest in electronics and sensor integration, particularly within the drone or aerospace industry.
Basic proficiency in circuit design, PCB layout, power distribution systems, and electrical system integration.
Eagerness to learn and develop an understanding of sensor technologies such as GNSS, GPS, IMU, LiDAR, cameras, and thermal imaging.
Willingness to become familiar with test equipment, tools, and methodologies used in electronics and sensor testing.
Awareness of industry standards and regulations related to drones and electronics (e.g., FAA regulations, ISO standards) is advantageous.
Basic knowledge of data analysis and interpretation, including using tools like MATLAB, Python, or similar software.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting complex electrical and sensor integration issues.
