Job description:
HELLA is hiring for the post of Detail Design Engineer.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Creating detailed 3D/2D designs according to customer and Forvia Hella design specifications for various stages of product development.
- Developing or modifying existing 3D/2D data of components and subassemblies to achieve maturity for nomination, ensuring readiness for further development stages.
- Generating 3D data for design verification/validation to assess design performance and identify potential enhancements.
- Ensuring design stability to enhance overall product functionality and safety.
- Implementing Design for Assembly strategies to optimize assembly processes and improve efficiency.
- Integrating Design for Manufacturing and surface treatment considerations into design processes to facilitate smooth production. Evaluating the manufacturability of relevant components to optimize manufacturing processes and minimize costs.
- Preparing 3D models and drawings of components and subassemblies mature for inquiry and finalization to ensure design readiness. Updating measurements and tolerances on drawings based on physical parts and evolving product and process requirements.
- Addressing kinematics and internal packaging requirements to optimize design functionality and space utilization. Collaborating on PCB mechanical interface design to seamlessly integrate electronic components into mechanical assemblies.
- Implementing defined Reference Point Systems (RPS) and tolerances for internal parts, LED light functions, and wire harness routing to ensure precise assembly.
- Leveraging lessons learned from previous mechanical design projects to drive continuous improvement in design processes, ensuring timely and successful completion.
Qualifications and experience required:
- Post-Diploma in Mold Design or Tool Design / B.E., B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- 0-3 years of experience in Mold Design/Plastic product design with 3D/2D creation.
- Knowledge of GD&T and its applications
- Basic knowledge of SAP PLM is an added advantage.
- Proficient in English communication (oral and written)
- Familiarity with MS PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
- Willingness to work in any shift according to project LEAD Location.
