Job description:
FORVIA is conducting an interview for the post of Wiring Harness Design Engineer.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Development of wire harnesses for Automotive lighting systems from the concept to start of production
- Advising and checking product development and production on materials and process engineering / tools and assembly- related issues re wire harnesses for headlamps and lamps
- Observing, analyzing and assessing technology development
- Working out constructions using CAD software and assessing the 3D wire routing of the wire harnesses using DMU navigator, as well as preparing the system & 2D function wiring diagrams and BOMs
- Clarifying and defining requirements with internal customers in the form of set project descriptions
- Analyzing the development and manufacturing expenditure
- Ensuring that defined technical standards are met within the context of the development
- Integrating internal and (where necessary) external services with due consideration of economic, quality- related and scheduling aspects in consultation with superior
- Deriving suitable modifications and corrective actions in collaboration with internal and external departments involved
- Updating and maintaining materials in PDM, developing a materials database
- Selecting, defining and specifying the components for the simulation and calculation with the departments involved
- Planning, implementing and evaluating using simulations, with the aim of proving design feasibility, testing and realizing component concepts and shortening development processes
- Consulting external service providers and suppliers re economic and quality-related aspects
- Troubleshooting the wiring harness issues & resolve independently
Qualifications and experience required
- Diploma /B. Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics
- 1-3 years of Experience in wiring Harness in Automotive/any domain
- Software Knowledge is Catia V5 is added Advantage
- Must have Good Communication skill to speak & write in English
- Ability to meet the global standards such as USCAR 2, LV214 etc
- Hands on experience in trouble shooting wiring harness issues, Proto sample building & design verification
