Ansys is conducting an interview for the post of R&D Documentation Specialist.
Job duties and responsibilities:
The R&D Documentation Specialist works under the supervision of a more senior team member to create and maintain technical help documentation and multimedia (a/v) tutorials for Ansys meshing products. This role requires effective research, writing, and editing skills related to technical product documentation. The R&D Documentation Specialist works with development teams, keeping informed of product development activities to determine the need for new documentation for meshing features and APIs as well as revisions, corrections, and changes in previously released materials.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Creates product documentation and API documentation (both written and audio/video) by complying with established company’s quality procedures, standards, style guides, and schedules
- Creates, formats, edits, reviews, and proofreads technical information including user guide, tutorial guide and meshing API related documentation
- Creates and reviews product limitation and troubleshooting guides that need to be included with the product documentation
- Participates in discussions with product team and subject matter experts to design effective product documentation of new meshing features, APIs, and workflows
- Reviews all documentation for its contents, technical accuracy, and style
- Conducts research on new tools and techniques related to technical product documentation
- Performs other duties as assigned to improve the overall quality of ANSYS product documentation
Minimum Education / Certification Requirements and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or other engineering discipline
- Fluency in English, along with excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Ability to take initiatives, gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources, paying close attention to details
- Capacity to develop user-centric documentation ensuring a high level of quality, consistency, usability, and accuracy
- Ability to simultaneously work on different documentation modules and software products in a fast-paced deadline-driven, geographically diverse environment
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or other engineering discipline
- Familiarity with Ansys products
- Familiarity with the concepts of documentation authoring, common project management software, version control tools
- Prior knowledge of structured documentation with DITA, build tools, Oxygen XML Editor, HTML, Doxygen, Sphinx, Git, Python, API documentation, Camtasia is preferred
- Knowledge of user-centered design processes, and agile development methodologies are desirable
