Canon is conducting an internship for Engineers.

Overview:

Are you pursuing an Engineering Degree (Chemical) and eager to gain some real world experience with Canon Virginia? We are the Regional Technical Headquarters in the Americas’ and quickly expanding into some exciting businesses! Come join us for the 2023 Summer Internship Program where you will gain industry and/or organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments.

Job duties and responsibilities:

  • Gains industry and/or organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments.
  • Performs diverse and challenging tasks to gain valuable hands on experience.
  • Assists CVI staff on various projects, tasks, and activities relating to their area of study or course work; performs day-to-day work that aligns with the function of the business unit.
  • Performs assigned tasks consistently in a professional and timely manner to meet required deadlines.
  • Utilizes good time management skills to effectively and accurately complete work assignments.
  • Exercises good judgment and knowledge from the classroom setting and applies knowledge to a professional work environment.
  • Applies research techniques, analytical methods, presentation skills, writing skills, and / or technical knowledge to the workplace.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures governing professional staff behavior.
  • Balances internship work schedule effectively with classroom coursework.
  • May be responsible for research, reports, spreadsheets, presentations, etc. as part of the assigned projects.
  • May work in several departments to assist with completing any additional projects or tasks.
  • Participates in activities designed for development during assignment (i.e. Lunch and Learns, Roundtable Discussions, etc.)
  • Prepares presentation summarizing the experiences gained through the internship
    and presents to peers and management.
  • May attend meetings and/or company events.

Qualifications required:

  • Student must be 18 years of age or older and working towards an undergraduate degree with the minimum credit hours to be classified as a junior or senior in their studies.
  • Student must have taken several related courses to the field in which they will be assigned.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
