Job description:

Johnson Controls is conducting an interview for the post of Mechanical Engineer I.

Job duties and responsibilities:

The Mechanical Engineer I perform conventional, complex mechanical Engineering assignments that involve design and development of the fire suppression products.

Includes the following: performs other duties as directed.

The combustion engineer will contribute to the development of computational simulations of gaseous, liquid, and solid fuel combustion systems to predict the fire characteristics.
The combustion engineer has hands on experience in model preparation, Meshing technologies, and Chemical reaction modeling.
Experience in using various turbulence models including Large Eddy Simulation.
Understanding of modeling fire-water interactions related phenomena.
General understanding of fire dynamics in compartments is advantageous
Prior usage of Fire Dynamics Simulation tool is an added advantage.
Proficiency in any industry standard CFD tools for combustion applications is preferred.
Applicant should be a self-starter with recent combustion system computational experience.
Proficient with CFD software package – ANSYS Workbench, Fluent.
Works on difficult FDS /CFD problems to assist new product development team
Process FDS /CFD results and communicate them through documentation and presentations.
Work independently in planning and completing assigned projects and tasks.
Basic knowledge in using CAD tools like Space Claim, Design Modeler, Croe, etc.,
Good English communication skill, both written and spoken
Basic knowledge in use of different standards like FM, UL etc. will be an added advantage.
Proficient with basic Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
